Tips for Effectively Searching the USPTO Database Using TESS - California IP Bar Webinar: Nov. 12 at Noon (PST)

The State Bar of California Intellectual Property Section (Trademark Interest Group) is presenting a 3-part webinar series on "Tips for Effectively Searching the USPTO Database Using TESS." Part 1, word marks using free form searching, part 2, design mark and non-traditional mark searching, and part 3, applying info gained from Parts 1 and 2 to 2d and 2e searches. Part 1 on Tuesday, November 12 at noon (PST). Part 2 will be December 10; Part 3, January 13. [Part 1 is now available on demand here.


Tips for Effectively Searching the USPTO Database Using TESS

Pete Bromaghim, a former examining attorney with the USPTO, and current trademark associate at Blakely Sokoloff Taylor Zafman, LLP, will lead off a multi-part series on TESS searching skills. He will explain the three forms of search options available, followed by an exploration of free-form searching, field operators, and truncation.
